The same rules for naming charities in your will or trust discussed above apply when completing the beneficiary designation form. Because the charity is tax-exempt, after your death it can withdraw the assets from the retirement account without having to pay income taxes on the withdrawal. Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the 40-day Le Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the 40-day Lenten season, a time of penance and preparation for the commemoration of the passion and death of Jesus Christ and his ultimate resurrection on Easter Sunday. Lent concludes with the celebration of the Mass of the Last Supper on Holy Thursday—the first day of the Easter Triduum—followed by Good Friday services and the celebration of the Easter Vigil on Holy Saturday.

Ash Wednesday is a day of abstinence from meat for Catholics over the age of 14. It is also a day of fasting—one full meal and two small meals, with nothing eaten between meals—for adults ages 18-59.
