Arriving in Miami as a newcomer is a crazy experience. There are so many people, so many bad drivers (seriously, the worst- no offense), and so much going on at a time. It can be overwhelming. It took a while to find our feet, but when we finally did? Wow! What a place it is. The palm trees, city lights, and sunshine make it great, but what won me over most was the people. Lou is from across the world and I had only been in big cities a handful of times. Now, there are people here who have taken us in and call us one of their own. From athletics, to fans, to the community, we are now one big family. We are beyond grateful for our experiences here and have gained a lifetime’s worth of blessings in four short years like soon-to-be four combined degrees, moments on the football field that we will never forget, and lifelong friendships. We want to try repaying what has been done for us in some way. Miami, and more specifically, Coral Gables, has given us everything. This project is our attempt at evening the score, although it is an impossible task. We want to feed those who are in need. I volunteered at the Grove Outreach Food Bank in the summer of 2020, and I was struck by the impact they make on our community every single day. They are an incredible organization, and we want to help support their mission. So, starting today, we will be fundraising to buy meals for the food bank. Our jersey numbers are 58 and 94, so the goal will be to raise enough money to sponsor 58,940 meals. We need help from everyone to accomplish our goal, whether financially or just by reposting. We appreciate your help and look forward to getting this rolling!
